Lane STEM Receives State of Oregon Programming Grant

The Oregon Department of Education has awarded Lane STEM their programming request.  That means in the first part of 2017 we will accomplish:

1. The launch of an online Lane STEAM resource directory in partnership with Lane Arts Council
2. The facilitation of all sixteen school districts receiving NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) roll out training from the Oregon Science Teachers Association
3. The promotion and elevation of STEM events, and the purchase of STEM equipment for under resourced areas
4. Supporting math and science teachers to participate in local summer industry experiences

This is incredibly exciting for our students, and we appreciate all your hard work in making this happen!

oen-logoThe Oregon Department of Education and the Chief Education Office launched the Oregon Educator Network (OEN), a new online resource to support educator professional development, connection, and collaboration. Described by some as “LinkedIn Meets Pinterest”, the OEN allows educators to connect with others with similar roles or interests, share tools, resources, and best practices, and create groups to advance their professional learning.

The Lane STEM Hub C2 Grant Leadership Team has adopted OEN as their central sharing site for STEM lessons and units. Our Lesson Plans can also be viewed at Open Educational Resources.
